Sitting on my couch here on a glorious 75 degree afternoon in State College, Robyn is playing Mario Kart on Nintendo Wii, and Grigore just left for a trip to Ithaca NY to meet up with some old high school buddies. For the second straight weekend we are staying put in State College, and our routine trips to the New are again on hold. Last night at the barn Chris, Robyn and I made plans for what could be our last (or second to last) climbing trip to West Virginia. It was about at that time that I realized our time here is coming to an end.
Kind of an eerie feeling really.
To be honest I spent the entire first year here wishing I was elsewhere. I had crazy roommates, the snowboard club was a shadow of the club I left behind in Idaho, and schoolwork was more intense and involved than ever.
It got better however; I moved in with Dan (Danimal), found rock climbing and quickly made friends that will last a lifetime. And now? I live in a rad house, Robyn is here, my buddies and roommates are super cool, school is almost over, and now that things are comfortable we are looking forward again. To a new town, new friends, and new activities.
As hard as each move seems, the draw of new adventures remains.
So tomorrow Robyn and I will be hosting a rummage/bake sale in hopes to scrounge up enough dough to get us back west again. All furniture, trinkets and extra clothing must go, because in one short month from now all of our belongings must fit into one midsize rental car!
It should be a crazy adventure, and lots will be happening in the following days!
