Just got a call from the director of the Sawtooth National Forest Avalanche Center informing me they made the new hire. A lot of mixed emotions came from the phone call chiefly disappointment. The only flaw in my resume was job experience and the guy they hired has been in the industry for well over 10 years. So what’s next? I have considered expanding on my new webmaster role to provide a small and simple web design service. I am currently the webmaster for 3 sites, 2 of which are pro bono. Simon at the center also mentioned he could send me some contacts from the guide services here including Sun Valley Heli Ski Guides. Other options I might pursue include my interest in photography and video media, or maybe working at one of the local breweries? Although the lost opportunity with the avalanche center is certainly a setback it’s impossible to look down on all the other perks that come with our new spot in Hailey. We love the town, the surroundings, our landlord is way cool and we just met our cool neighbors too. We get to take weekend trips.. WEEKEND trips (not 6 hour flights) to see friends and family, and we finally have a cool little house to call our own for a while. In the mean time if you have a website that needs to be built or know of someone that does, hit me up!

So sorry to hear E-train. Other opportunities will open up, and adventures come your way.
As my old man says, “close only counts with horse shoes and hand grenades.”

This is a real popular tahoe snow site. This guy started as an amateur snow forecaster and got super popular. He now works for 5 different resorts doing snow forecasting. Maybe you can pickup a side gig with the resort doing a snow forecast along the same lines.
Cool! Thanks Phu I will check it out!
My ears are wide open. Could have something with a friend from Gonzaga who’s starting up a rafting company and could use your assistance! 🙂 I’ll keep on the lookout Ethan! You’ll be great!
thanks amy!
