This is for the 5 people in my circle of friends and family that actually care about the Blazers. If you were paying attention throughout the whole game last night – I applaud you! I think Lamarcus put it best “We got our ass kicked, basically,” said Aldridge. “That’s how to put it.” I think I will leave the game talk at that..
On a fun note Robyn and I are supporting our love of food and Blazer habits by cooking Blazer inspired meals for each game of the playoffs! How? Using the Blazers’ cookbook of course! If you couldn’t guess by the photo (if you are a Blazer fan you already know!) this is the Blazers’ 1991-1992 team that went on to the NBA finals before losing to that guy Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. The feats of this team were only surpassed by the 1977 Blazers who brought the title back to Rip City.
Each playoff game that the Blazers play in from here on out will have a Blazer (or Blazer mom) recipe picked and cooked for good luck! Last night we had “Mother Lingren’s Coffee Cake” submitted by Paula Buckwalter. Who? Yeah, that’s what I said too. Bucky Buckwalter was the Trailblazers VP of Basketball Operations from 1990-1994. And although I want to tear that freakin page out of the cookbook, I will leave it in there with a note to NEVER cook it again. Not that it was bad. Far from it! But the way we played last night could have only been due to a curse. The curse of Bucky’s Coffee Cake. DAMN YOU!
It was the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Game… Make something else!
