You know those moments that are kinda awful when they happen but in hindsight are things of family legend? Well this was one of those moments. Hundreds of miles from anything on a gravel road in the Alaskan bush we stopped because of all things, we ran into our roommates. After a brief chat my mom went to close the door to the bus.. and it ended up in her hands.. on the ground.. completely disconnected from the vehicle! Luckily, after some improbable maneuvering we were able to re-attach it, but not without some seriously classic angry Davis man and giggling Davis woman moments.

Still not funny. You are lucky that pops is a mechanical guru. The real funny thing is that since then I actually have learned to take these doors off and on in about five minutes. The Bush is no place however to try and jury rig a fix.
